After the announcement of the US CPI, gold has been playing with the market trend. The trend in the early morning is really exciting. Both bulls and bears have opportunities! The most popular market trend among retail investors.
On December 18 (Thursday), before the release of US CPI data, gold retreated to $4,308 per ounce. After the data was released, as the US CPI annual rate recorded 2.6%, lower than expected 3.1%, a new low since March 2021. Gold rebounded from US$4,308/oz to US$4,374/oz. I posted an article at 22:56 on Tuesday night. The headline said that gold would soon break through US$4,350/oz. On Tuesday, gold once retreated to a low of US$4,272/oz. The daily gold line closed on the negative line that day. Many bulls began to panic. Now, any deep retracement of gold will scare the bulls. Nowadays, most retail investors hold long positions in gold.
On December 18 (Thursday), the price was bullish to 4370 near 4340, and it was accurately exited near 4370 (domestic gold price of 989 yuan/gram). It has been really good these days, and I have been working hard to analyze the market recently. I spent most of the night watching market points. Now gold has retreated from 4374 (domestic gold price 989 yuan/g) to 4309 (domestic gold price 974 yuan/g), embarking on an inverted V trend, wiping out all the positive CPI gold gains last night. Are gold bulls panicking now?
Judging from the current trend, the short-term upward trend of gold has not been destroyed. Although gold retraced from 4374 to 4309, a retracement of 65 US dollars, the retracement period was short and the retracement was not too deep. The decline in the early hours of this morning was not driven by panic news. There is a high probability that the bulls took profits and pocketed part of the profits in advance because of the rise. After reaching 4374, there is not much room to reach the historical high of 4382, and it is currently the US Christmas holiday. The judgment before the holiday is that it is difficult for gold to break through the historical high of 4382 (domestic gold price of 1003 yuan/gram).
If gold has a range of 4300-4280 during the day, we will tend to be short and bullish.
After hitting a high of 989 yuan/gram (international gold price of 4,374 US dollars/ounce), the daily gold line is currently 2 negative lines.
